Details: The uniqueness of CONDUCTORCISE® is born out of natural body movement and our physical response to music. Participants are made aware of rhythm, form, color through use of instruments, and the creative process. The music ranges widely, from marches by John Philip Sousa and Johann Strauss to beloved concert, ballet, and operatic classics of Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, and Dvorak to brilliant showpieces by Offenbach, Rimsky-Korsakov and Copland. No musical background is necessary!

*White Elephant Sale to Benefit Franke at Seaside

Details: The Franke Ladies Auxiliary hosts their annual White Elephant Sale to benefit the residents of Franke at Seaside.  The sale features gently-used home items from children's, men's and women's clothing to books to games to home décor and even furniture.  Baked goods from residents and the auxiliary will be available—the Charleston Cheese Straws always go fast!  Proceeds are donated to the resident care fund and used to bring programs and celebrations to the residents of Assisted Living, Pavilion Place Memory Care, and Keil Skilled Nursing HealthCare Center.  Items remaining at the end of the sale are donated to local charities.

*Alzheimer's Caregivers Candlelight Service

Details: Many of us either have or have had responsibility for caring for an aging loved one with memory loss.  Too often caregivers feel alone with those responsibilities and unappreciated for their sacrificial efforts.  The purpose of the service will be to thank God for life itself; to affirm the presence of the sacred in the daily acts of caring for another; to pray for sustaining energy to hold up caregivers, allowing them to be filled with unimaginable determination; and to gather strength from the community of faith.

Details: The Life Enrichment Department of Franke at Seaside presents the monthly Men's Brunch, catered by Executive Chef Mike Carter, Franke at Seaside. Men's Brunch celebrates the men of Franke and the lives they have shared with others and with us.

The "Past" Prime Time Players Radio Theatre
Date: Monday, November 16 at 3:00 pm and Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 pm
Location: Rodenberg Hall
Details: The "Past" Prime Time Players will offer their rendition of "Radio Theatre" with "Retro." Listen to Edna Walker dish up the dirt, Jo Stafford belt out her songs, and the Bickersons continue their lifelong struggle to misunderstand each other.  Tune in to WALC 1500!  Turn up the volume!  Join the drama group in this new presentation directed by Gail Thornton and her cast of thousands (well, maybe twenty-five) of actors, writers, and producers.  Watch how the sound effects are created to augment your favorite program.  Now, you can not only hear the clink of the Bickersons' coffee cups and the rustle of their morning paper, but you can witness these things as they happen.  With Mark Lee as Emcee and the Franke Quarter broadcasting with their WALC musical signature, you'll reminisce over these and a myriad of other favorites. *BeWell Seminar: National Memory Screening Day
Date: Tuesday, November 17
Time: 9:00 – 11:00 am

Details: National Memory Screening Day is a collaborative effort spearheaded by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America to promote early detection of Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and to encourage appropriate intervention. Franke at Seaside will offer free confidential memory screenings, as well as follow up resources and educational materials to those concerned about memory loss. Together, we hope to improve quality of life. The event is free and open to the public; no appointment is necessary.  Licensed nurses, social workers, or mental health professionals perform all screenings.
